Structured Cabling Technician

We are currently searching for an experienced Structured Cabling Technician to join our Operations team in the Greater Toronto Area. As a Technician at GT Global Services, you must be motivated, customer focused and team oriented. Our technicians will be available to work as both part of the team and independently, and our expectation is that you will deliver exceptional service to our customers with their needs in mind, providing quality workmanship at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Experience installing data, voice, security, and video cabling.
• Installation, maintenance and repair of copper and fiber equipment, products, and services
• Read and properly interpret blueprints and construction plans
• Execute projects and adjust to changing priorities effectively
• Completion of assigned work to the highest of standards
• Commit to all company safety rules and guidelines
• Ensure vehicle, test equipment and tools are kept safe and in good condition
• Communicate with customers in a personable, but professional manner, ensuring their needs are met and that jobs are completed to their satisfaction
• Fully complete detailed work orders following each job to ensure accurate billing
• Complete and submit daily timesheets

 

Requirements:

• 3-4 years’ experience in installation, maintenance and repair of copper and fiber cabling required
• Experience utilizing testing tools
• Ability to work at heights comfortably on ladders and lift devices
• Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership and responsibility of your work
• Superior customer service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Valid provincial ‘G’ driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract mandatory
• Ability to distinguish colours
• Ability to lift heavy equipment / materials
